Therapy is a time and space in your week where you can talk with a professional about what is concerning you.
In the private and peaceful room where I work in Bristol BS2, you can say what's on your mind and be heard by an experienced, qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist.
Sometimes it feels like a relief to get something off your shoulders. If you are going through something difficult, feeling overwhelmed, or would like to make sense of aspects of your life, I can support you and help you to understand what is affecting you.
We usually have two initial meetings to find out what your aims are for therapy and what will best support you. I offer either once or twice weekly therapy sessions.
You may be experiencing difficulties including anxiety, depression, anger, stress, pain, exhaustion, low self-esteem, self-doubt, or feeling stuck or cut off; or perhaps you are facing relationship, family and social problems, questions around aspects of identity, or specific challenges and dilemmas.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy can help, through a combination of rapport, support and exploration. Together we explore how what is going on for you now relates to what has happened to you before, and elsewhere in your life. With this understanding, and within the context of your day to day experience, you can begin to find curiosity, recognise links and patterns, and develop lasting agency and freedom.
I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist with over ten years' experience providing psychotherapy in Bristol.
I am a Member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Clinical Associate Member of the Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy.
As well as private practice, I also work as a psychotherapist for the NHS, in the Complex Psychological Interventions service in Bristol.
The consulting room is at 69 Old Market Street, Bristol BS2 0EJ. It is close to the Old Market roundabout.
The room is on the ground floor and is accessible. It is a 15-20 minute walk from Temple Meads station. There are metered car parking spaces in the surrounding streets, including Old Market Street and Midland Road.
